About Us
History
Fluid Audio Group was originally founded by Alain Benoit in 2005. His goal was to create a professional music production facility that would serve the Atlantic Canada region.
With a strong background in audio engineering and electronics, he set forth to create an environment in which producers and engineers of all levels of experience would feel comfortable working in.
The concept of the studio was simple: to create a commercial facility that focuses on accommodating outside engineers and producers, as well as raising the accepted standards of what clients expect from a “local” studio.
The studio was designed to bring together high quality outboard gear with the speed and flexibility of modern DAWs, all the while incorporating a great live room and professional staff.
Fluid Audio Group is located in a 4400 sq. ft. commercial space in beautiful uptown Saint John. The uptown location provided close proximity to a great number of amenities. Restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, pubs and the city market are all within walking distance.
Rates
Studio rates are $40 per hour plus HST with a minimum 2 hour booking. This includes access to our entire inventory and the services of an assistant engineer. Additional equipment, assistants and runners may be provided at an extra charge.
If an engineer is required for your session, Fluid Audio Group can recommend an engineer to meet your schedule and budget requirements. All engineers are independent contractors and as such, their rates would be paid separately.
Session musicians are also available at additional costs upon requests. We are part of a network of professional session musicians from all across the Atlantic Provinces that can suit your project’s needs. They are independent contractors and their rates would be paid separately.
Shop rates are $35 per hour and a minimum $35 bench fee is applicable. Consumables are a $10 charge for the first hour and an additional $10 for every 2 hours thereafter.
Policies
Booking studio time in excess of 10 hours requires a non-refundable deposit. The deposit required is prorated based on the total hours estimated by the producer and will be determined on a case by case basis.
Fluid Audio Group requires 72 hours notice on all cancellations. In the event that a client-initiated cancellation is made on a booking where a deposit was secured, Fluid Audio Group will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the session; so long as 72 hours notice has been given. In the event that proper notice is not given, the client forfeits their deposit and would be required to schedule a new booking. If for any reason Fluid Audio Group initiates the cancellation, the session will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience of both parties.
